Rajouri: As part of the Quami Bhavana initiative of District Administration Rajouri, Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh K Shavan Sunday launched the institutional plantation drive here at 72 CRPF Battalion HeadQuarter Sunderbani.
The team of 72 CRPF Battalion personnel under the command of Shree Ram Meena joined the Deputy Commissioner in the plantation drive. The families of the CRPF Personnel also participated with great zeal in the drive.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Rajouri Administration has started a unique initiative called Quami Bhavna wherein the District Magistrate visits the remote locations and interacts with jawans, officers and stays with them to take the first-hand appraisal of their workings and problems.
This initiative has been named Quami Bhavana to strengthen the civil-military liaison and to boost the morale of jawans and officers of both serving and ex-servicemen and also to display the national spirit for carrying out the mission of peace and development.
As part of the initiative, the DC spent one night with the unit at Lam and shared all experiences and discussed the roadmap for the development of the border areas with the officers. Continuing his efforts to deepen civil-military liaison, the DM Sunday visited 72 CRPF Battalion HQ Sunderbani.
The Deputy Commissioner, during the event, strongly appreciated the resolute dedication shown by the paramilitary forces for maintaining security and peace in the region and said that the paramilitary forces have always been at the forefront of ensuring the safety and welfare of mankind.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need of realizing the importance of respecting and protecting our green wealth and the rich flora for our future generations.
He appealed to the public to participate in the drive so that a good number of trees are planted to increase the green cover in the entire district which is important for a healthy society and also to avoid diseases.
The Deputy Commissioner urged upon the Military personnel to actively participate in such events and stressed the need for the harmonious functioning of the Government agencies.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the aim of conducting such activities is to enhance synergy, interaction and coordination between the civil and military agencies and these events provide opportunities for deliberation on important issues of mutual interest impacting security and development of the region.
The Deputy Commissioner also lauded the efforts of the Shree Ram Meena and his team for organizing the plantation drive and other activities for the promotion of peace and harmony in the district and urged upon them to keep working with the same zeal for the welfare of mankind.
The CO of the unit has shown keen interest in plantation and water conservation. Under his supervision the 72 CRPF Battalion has developed several check dams along the adjoining nalla near the campus for saving water. Around 9300 saplings have been planted by 72 Battalion CRPF under his command which was highly appreciated by DM Rajouri.
