Srinagar: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned welfare loans in favour of 124 personnel of J&K Police. Welfare relief has also been granted to five needy personnel. The amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
In a statement issued on Friday police said “In an order on 17th June this the welfare loan/relief of over Rs. 1.22 crore has been sanctioned in favour of these Police personnel, who are in need of financial assistance”.
Stating that Rs 27 lakh have been provided as loan to 29 police personnel for self-treatment or for the treatment of their dependent suffering from different ailments and besides welfare relief of rupees 1.15 lakh was provided in favour of five personnel for the purpose of self-treatment or treatment of their dependants, police in it’s statement further said “Rs 80 lakh welfare loans have been sanctioned to 80 personnel for the purpose of self marriage or for the marriage of their dependents”, adding that “Also rs 13 lakh welfare loan have been sanctioned in favour of 13 police personnel to support their wards in achieving higher/technical education”.
Police in it’s statement furthermore said that Rs one lakh was also sanctioned in favour of two police personnel for performing rituals like circumcision/mundan of their wards, stating therein further that the welfare loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and will be recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest as the amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said “Police headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing financial assistance to all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police including the wards of martyred police personnel and wards of SPOs killed in the line of duty”.
