Srinagar: J&K Congress President Ghulam Ahmad Mir and President Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) on Thursday felicitated people especially Kadhmiri Pandit brethern on the very auspicious occassion of Mela Khir Bhavani.
In his message of felicitations, J&K Congress President Ghulam Ahmad Mir described the occassion as historical, reflecting the age old tradition of communal harmony and brotherhodd between Pandit and Muslim brethren. “Mela Khir Bhavani also reflects the composite culture and diversity in Kashmir, which will continue to remain the real and unique identity of Kashmiri cultur” ,JKPCC President said.He also hoped that Mela Khir Bhavani will be the harbinger of inclusive development, peace, stability in J&K and wellbeing of people and also exuded confidence that the occasion will continue to strengthen the bonds of affection, harmony and brotherhood, besides leading people at the path of truthfulness and righteousness.
In his statement of felicitations President J&K Apni Party (JKAP) Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said Mela Kheer Bhawani represents the cultural ethos and pluralistic values that have always remained a hallmark for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “These festivities and celebrations have always reflected the deep roots of brotherhood and harmony among the different communities of J&K that have lived together for centuries and continue to do the same,” he said. Bukhari wished all the people of J&K on this sacred festival especially the Kashmiri Pandit Community and prayed that may this occasion become a harbinger of peace & prosperity for all.
