Srinagar: Continuing with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of the police personnel who have passed away while in service, the Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 35 lakh as Special Welfare Relief for NoKs of deceased police personnel/SPOs who expired while in service.
In a statement issued on Monday police said “ special welfare relief of Rs 19 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased police personnel Sgct. Manzoor Ahmad who expired due to illness while in service”, adding that “ Rs one lakh has been already paid to the NoKs of deceased police personal for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through his concerned unit”, stating further therein that the financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.
Stating that besides, special relief of Rs 4.50 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased SPO’s Lekh Raj, Yog Raj and SPO Yash Paul, police in it’s above referred statement also said “Rs 50,000 each have been already paid to the families/ NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units”, adding that “the financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Welfare Fund of SPOs”. Police in its statement further said that as a welfare measure Police Headquarters has taken many initiatives to ensure increased help and assistance for the welfare of its personnel and their families.
