Jammu: Forest Department refutes News report appearing in a section of press regarding installation of Stone Crusher set up in Forest land at Samba.
As per the department, It has been established that the Forest Department has not allowed the installation of Stone Crusher in the forest land.
It said that the installation of Stone Crusher has been allowed by the Director Geology and Mining Department J&K Government in private land bearing Khasra No. 299 measuring 09 K and 04 M at village Sadhral after obtaining the requisite No Objection Certificates from State Pollution Control Board, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Superintendent Engineer Power Grid Station Kathua and General Manager District Industries Samba.
As far as the Forest Department is concerned, all punitive and preventive measures have been adopted to avert any such incidence of mining in the forest land, the department added.
The news appeared in the newspaper regarding the mining in forest land is beyond the facts and such mining is taking place in the private lands at village Sadral, the Department claimed.
