Ganderbal: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna Monday stated that the cumulative positivity rate has come down from 11.5 percent to 6 percent in the district, besides the recovery rate has also increased to 89 percent.
The DC said this during a press brief and related the drop in positivity rate and increase in recovery to the hard work of health workers and cooperation by the general public of the district during the last 4 weeks.
Elaborating on Red Zones, the DC said that about 59 areas are declared as Red zones in the district and around 44 percent positive population is in these zones.
While giving details about the tests done at Covid Care Centres (CCCs), Jyotsna said that last week around 446 RAT tests were done among which 5 tests were positive and appealed the people who lack isolation facility at their homes to avail the benefits of these centres activated at all 126 Panchayats of the district.
She added that establishing CCCs can prove imperative in combating the 3rd wave of Covid pandemic and complimented the DDCs, BDCs, Sarpanchs and Panchs for their support in establishing the CCCs in the district.
While giving details on Vaccination for 18-44 years for priority groups, the DC said that about 3180 persons are vaccinated and appealed Shopkeepers, transporters and Amarnath Service Providers to visit vaccination centers and get first dose of vaccination which is prerequisite for saving themselves from Covid pandemic.
She again appealed to the people to keep following the restrictions and SOPs issued by the Administration as they are for their own benefits and protection from Covid infection.
