Srinagar: Police in Budgam on Friday said that it has arrested three persons involved in illegal excavation & transportation of clay and also seized three tippers used in transportation of illegally extracted clay.
In a statement issued here on Friday police said that a police party from Police Post Narbal during night patrolling seized three tippers loaded with illegally extracted clay and arrested three drivers for transportation of illegally extracted clay. “The drivers have been identified as Sahil Ahmad Sofi son of Mohd Ramzan Sofi resident of Hajibagh Soibugh, Sameer Ahmad Chopan son of Abdul Gani Chopan resident of Hajibagh Soibugh and Mohd Yousuf Shah son of Mohd Akbar Shah resident of Hajibagh Soibugh”, adding that “ the above named accused were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody and all vehicles used in the commission of the crime have also been seized”.
Police in it’s statement also said that a case FIR No. 113/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Magam and investigation has been initiated.
