Srinagar: Police in Budgam on Wednesday claimed to have arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW) of Lashker-e-Toiba in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, police said that police in Budgam along with other government forces arrested a militant associate and recovered incriminating material from his possession.
Stating that acting on specific information, a special joint checkpoint was established by Police and 43Bn CRPF at Harren Saibug area of Budgam , police in it’s statement further said during checking a militant associate identified was arrested and identified as Fayaz Ahmed Bhat son of Mohammad Amin Bhat resident of Hakarmula Budgam linked with outfit LeT.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested militant associate was providing shelter, logistics and other material support including transportation of arms and ammunition to the active militants of outfit LeT in various areas of Budgam”, reads the police statement, adding that “the arrested militant associate has been in touch with the PaK militant commanders through various social media platforms and was also in constant touch with LeT self-styled militant commanders in Kashmir”.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that incriminating material including posters of outfit LeT were recovered from the possession of the said militant associate and a case vide FIR No. 152/221 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
