3 AK rifles, 4 pistols recovered along LoC in Tangdhar Kupwara: Police

Srinagar: Police in Kupwara on Saturday claimed to have recovered Three AK-47 weapons ,four pistols besides other ammunition .
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said “acting on a specific information regarding weapon smuggling, a search operation was conducted by Kupwara Police and Army (2 JAT) in the Forward Jabdi Tangdhar area falling in the jurisdiction of PS Karnah”
Stating that during search operation huge cache of arms and ammunition including three AK-47 rifles with six magazines and four Pistols with 9 magazines were recovered, police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 53/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Karnah and further investigation has been taken up.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said “timely recovery of huge cache of arms and ammunition has thwarted any possible untoward incident in otherwise peaceful region .
