Branch head of JK Bank Chadoora wins accolades for enforcing social distancing in disbursement of old age pension, widow fund

Budgam: People in Chadoora lauded the role of J&K Bank Branch head Mushtaq Ahmad in enforcing social distancing in the distribution of old age pensions and widow fund among the beneficiaries and also stipend among the persons having physical disabilities who had come in thousands to receive the pension dues from remote areas of Chadoora and Chrar-e-Shareef tehsils of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Meanwhile old age pension beneficiaries, widows getting monthly pensions and person with physical disabilities have demanded disbursement of their pension only at their own places of residence.
Witnesses said that the Branch head of J&K Bank Chadoora on his personal insistence had involved Tehsildar Chadoora, SHO Chadoora and President of Municipal Committee Chadoora for enforcing social distancing peacefully in the distribution of old age pension and widow fund among the beneficiaries of old age pension scheme and widow fund and also stipend among persons with disabilities run by the social welfare department. Ishtiyaq Ahmad a resident of Chadoora said “social distancing witnessed in distribution of old age pension and widow fund and also stipend for persons with disabilities among ten thousand beneficiaries from Chrar-e-Sharief , Kanidajan and other adjacent areas was the first of it’s kind in any part of Kashmir valley and we were glad to see J&K Bank’s branch heading himself overseeing the entire distbursement process”. Meanwhile beneficiaries of old age pension and widow fund and also persons with disabilities have appealed Commissioner/ Secretary Social Welfare Department and Director Social Welfare Department (Kashmir) to ensure that they get their dues are disbursed to them only at the J&K Bank Branches nearest to their actual places of residence so that crowds don’t gather at a single branch and other bank transactions are not unnecessarily disrupted.
