Kidnapped girl recued, accused arrested : Police

Srinagar: Police in Kulgam on Wednesday said that it has recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
A police statement issued on Wednesday said “ On July 19 last year PS Manzgam received a complaint from a person stating therein that his daughter (name withheld) had been kidnapped by one person namely Imran Gorsi @Abrar son of Mir Mohammad Gorsi resident of Yarikha DH Pora”, adding that “ a case FIR No. 34/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Manzgam and investigation was initiated”.
Stating that an investigation team headed by SHO Manzgam under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora was constituted and acting on specific leads, the team recovered kidnapped girl and arrested the accused person from Yarikha DH Pora Kulgam who was shifted to PS Manzgam where he remains in custody, police in it’s statement further said “after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress”.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood and asked them to share information pertaining to social crimes with police, reiterating therein that efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue.
