Proposed tourism festival at Doodhpathri a welcome step: Hakeem

Jammu: Chairman People’s Democratic Front ( PDF ) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has welcomed decision of the tourism department to hold a mega tourism extravga nza at upcoming tourism destination Doodhpathri in Khansahib, Budgam. He said the tourism festival will go a long way to invite and promote Doodhpathri tourist resort among local as well as outside visitors .
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hakeem while appreciating tourism department step to hold tourism festival at Doodhpathri from 6th March said that the step will help to attract tourists to visit this picturesque and virgin tourist destination . He has called for a massive publicity campaign and well tailored festival offers for intending visitors to make the event a grand success. He said there was a dire need to upgrade the existing infrastructure at Doodhpathri for providing better and convenient boarding and lodging services to the visitors. He has also welcomed government announcement to spend Rs 100 cr for infrastructure development of Doodhpathri, Yousmarg, Tosamadaan under PMDP .
PDF Chairman has urged the government to finalise the Doodhpathri Draft Master Plan at the earliest so that beautification and development of this breathtaking natural tourist destination is taken up in a holistic and planned manner. He has flayed the concerned authorities for failure to finalise Doodhpathri master plan till date which was drafted in the year 2011. He said general people and local public representatives should be taken on board while notifying nine adjacent villages as tourist villages proposed under the Doodhpathri master plan. He said Doodhpathri has a vast tourism potential for adventure,, water and winter tourism which needs to be exploited optimally to make it an all season tourist destination.
