DDC unfurls tri-colour in B’pora, took salute at march past, applauds COVID-19 warriors, highlights developmental activities

Bandipora: District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmed on Tuesday unfurled tricolour at S K Sports Stadium Bandipora and took salute at the march past.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, DDC highlighted the importance of the Day and also presented a detailed report on developmental front. Senior Superintendent of police Bandipora Rahul Malik , Senior Officers were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion,the Deputy Commissioner extended Republic Day greetings to the people and highlighted the historical background of freedom movement of India. He said our best tribute to them is to take the state to the new era of development and peace and also paid rich tributes to the COVID warriors who worked tirelessly to fight the pandemic.He appealed to the people to continue to take precautions and follow the guidelines issued by health experts so that the spread of virus is prevented.
Deputy Commissioner said the recent Municipal and DDC elections were a major step towards strengthening the democracy at grass root level that will open a new chapter of development in the state. While presenting the performance of the district administration during the current financial year so far, Dr Owais said 2020-21 will be remembered as a golden period of the district with major projects seeing the light of the day especially Putushay Power grid, Macdamisation of roads and District Hospital is dedicated to the public which is a great achievement.
The Chief Guest distributed prizes among the participants who performed the best in covid crisis. The Deputy Commissioner also gave away appreciation certificates among the employees for doing commendable job in various fields in the district. Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner Bandipora, CPO, Officers from District Administration, Police, Security Forces, were present on the occasion, besides people. Similar functions were held at Sonawari and Gurez sub divisions where National Flag was hoisted to mark the republic Day.
