NC women’s wing functionaries greet people on girl child day

Srinagar The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference women leaders on Monday greeted the people on girl child day, saying women emancipation has been a cornerstone of Party Policy.
In a joint statement State Secretary Sakina Itoo, women’s wing president Shameema Firdous, Provincial President women’s wing Sabiya Qadri and additional Spokesperson Sarah Hayat Shah said the women’s political participation besides being a human right, is also a key to thriving democracy and the Party has traditionally and frontally worked to end gender bias.
They said the significant role played by the party’s women’s wing functionaries, delegates, and workers for upholding and rallying round the party flag during the most trying times was a case in point, where women have reinstated that they are next to none. They asserted the cornerstone of the development programme of the party is to empower the youth of J&K saying that once in power the party has always prioritized implementing gender neutral, youth focused policies and programs.
“The past few years has seen a lack of initiatives by the government towards emancipation of the youth. Youth policy is multi pronged that involves effective investment in a number of different areas such as employment, education, leisure.”
