Scholarship awareness cum financial aid distribution prog held at HKM Degree College B’pora

Bandipora: The HKM Govt Degree College Bandipora on Thursday conducted a “Scholarship Awareness cum Financial Aid Distribution” program . The program was organised by the aegis of scholarship and Financial Aid Committee of the College under the patronage of Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Mohd Amin Malik.
The purpose of the program was to make students aware about various scholarship schemes run at national and international level. The scholarships granted by Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA) like pre-matric, post matric, merit-cum means scholarships etc other schemes like PMSSS run by AICTE for the students of Jammu and Kashmir which helps students to study outside J&K in various prestigious institutions at national level were discussed.
Thw college administration on this occasion distributed an amount of rupees six lakh fifty three thousand among the 245 needy students of the college as financial aid for 2020-21. This year the college had received 656 applications which were scrutinized rigorously and 245 applicants were found eligible which furth er divided into six categories for final disposal of financial aid 2020-2021. Khursheed Anwar Nakashbandi, the grand preacher of central Jammia Masjid Bandipora, was the chief guest and he during his address to the participants of the program highlighted the importance of such programs in the light of holy Quran and practices of Holy Prophet (SAW). He appreciated the college administration for distribution of such a handsome amount among the needy students of the area. He said that such programs lay a positive impact not only o n the academic performance of the students but also in their overall personality.
Earlier, while welcoming the audience, Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Moh d Amin Malik, threw light on various scholarship schemes available at national and international level through Govt and private agencies. He advised the students to become meritorious and avail various scholarships schemes available which can build their career. He also hailed the efforts of Financial Aid and Scholarship Committee of the college. The program was attended b y a large number of students and faculty members. The proceedings were conducted by Shabeer Ahmad Parey, the convener of the Scholarship and Financial Aid committee, w ho also proposed vote of thanks at the conclusion of the event.
SMC demolishes shops at Aaliyaba HMT in Srinagar outskirts
Srinagar: Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Thursday demolished six shops that had come up in Aaliyabad area of HMT in the outskirts of Srinagar city.
In a statement issued on Thursday the SMC said ” enforcement Wing under the supervision of Enforcement Officer Central along with the concerned ward officer went to the site and instantly demolished all the six shops being errected at site”. Stating that the violator has taken undue advantage of recent eventuality and constructed six shops illegally at the site, the SMC in it’s statement said ” “in a routine inspection of monitoring illegal constructions in the city, It was found that owner had taken the undue advantage of recent evantuality as the corporation was busy dealing with snow clearance and other issues”.
Observing that theviolator had established these six shops without any legal documentation and permissions. Acvordingly the enforcement team was was roped in and all the six shops were demolished, the SMC in it’s statement said ” Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali has advised people not to take advantage of any such eventualities and apply for proper building permission before taking up any construction in the city”. Ali, according to the SMC statement, further said that a tight vigil is being kept on constructional activities and the structures which are being constructed without building permission or getting deviated from the approved building plan will face the similar actions.
