Neighboring country using Kashmiris for their geo political purpose: DGP

Srinagar: Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid Friday said that the neighboring country is using Kashmiris as tools for their geo political purpose.
“The killing of a cop on Thursday evening is the murder of humanity and Kashmiriyat, for which Kashmiris are being used by the neighbouring country (Pakistan) for their geo political purpose,” DGP said on the sidelines of the wrath laying ceremony of a cop, Shahzad Dilawar Sofi of Ashtengoo village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district who was killed in an attack on Thursday evening.
DGP said that the people here are being used as pawns.
Constable Shahzad Dilawar Sofi of Ashtengoo village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district was killed while another policeman was injured after car-borne militants attacked them near J&K Bank in Hyderpora last night.
He said that the slain cop and the Rangreth youth were family members. “The slain persons were cousins,” he said.
Asked about the militant video wherein they claimed to carry out more attacks, Vaid said, “We will face them.”
Meanwhile, wreath laying ceremony was held today for a policeman killed in last night militant attack in Hyderpora area of Srinagar.
A wreath laying ceremony was held for the slain cop in DPL Srinagar in which DGP Jammu and Kashmir S P Vaid, civil and police officers participated.
“Among others who presented wreaths and flowers included ADGP Security Dilbagh Singh, ADGP Armed L. Mohanti, Director Vigilance J&K SJM Gillani, IGP Kashmir Munir Ahmad Khan, IGP Traffic Jagjit Kumar, IGP Armed Kashmir Mubarak Ganaie, DIG CKR Ghulam Hassan Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Lone, DIG Armed Rafiq-ul-Hassan, DIG SSB Rajinder Bhumbla, a number of SSsP and Commandants of armed/IR, DySsP and Jawans,” police said.
