Srinagar: Srinagar Police have arrested 4 gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that a police party of Police Station Shergarhi raided a gambling site after following an input about gambling activities and apprehended 4 gamblers identified as Zubair Ahmad Bhat resident of Allochibagh Khadimill Srinagar, Hamid Jan resident of Beigh Mohalla Allochibagh, Wahid Rafiq sheikh resident of Shallpora Allochibagh and Mohsin Bashir Hajam resident of Allochibagh Srinagar.
In it’s statement police further said “officers have seized playing cards and stake money of ₹7320/- from their possession”, adding that “ gamblers have been arrested and shifted to PS Shergarhi where they remain in custody”.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 76/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Shergarhi and investigation in underway , police in it’s statement warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Police in it’s statement also advised people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
