Int’l Exhibition by JKCCA inaugurated

Jammu: An International Exhibition of Art by Women Artists- 2020 (Online) organized by Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu was inaugurated by Adwaita Gadanayak, Director General, National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi on 1st November, 2020. One hundred and eighteen art works by female artists of ten countries are displayed in the exhibition. The exhibition curated by O P Sharma, Founder Director Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts, Jammu will be on display upto 21st November, 2020.
In his inaugural address Adwaita Gadanayak said, ‘Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts, Jammu under O P Sharma, Director, is doing a great work of organizing International Exhibition of Art by Women Artists (Online), by connecting the artists of the world during the hard times of Covid- 19 Pandemic.’ He wished more endeavours to be conducted by JKCCA in future also.
O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA said that the role of female artists taking part in artistic activities in a large number needs appreciation and be recognized by the organizations working for the development of their artistic pursuits. He added that JKCCA is committed to proceed with the art, culture and languages in future also.
The artists included in the ‘Invitees’Section’ include Raj Bharti, Jammu, Chandana Khan. Hyderabad, Bandana Nath, Guwahati, Neena Singh, Pune, Dr. Mamta Singh and Dr. Shashi Jha, Dehradun, Sushila Bodade, Indore, Shubhada Bhosale, Pune, Prof. (Dr.) Chitralekha Singh Agra and Nirpuma Tank, Gujrat. The artists included in the ‘Artists from Abroad Section’ are Anita Elgerot, Sweden, Dora Labora, New York, USA, Aparazita Rehman, Dhaka, Bangla Desh, Mamta Patel, USA, Laura Caro, London, UK, Bandhita Worasri, Thailand, Fareha Zeba, Bangla Desh, Reena Singh, Australia, Aruna Dhade, Doha, Qatar, Keyla Hannani Morel, Salgado, South Africa, Muberra Bulbul, Turkey, Jamilya Baramikova, Vietnam. It may be recalled that Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA) is a prominent NGO in the state of J&K working under Pt. Kewal K Sharma, President JKCCA. The organization integrates itself with the functions of visual arts, literature and performing arts.
