Srinagar/June,8: Stressing for meaningful tripartite talks, Syed Ali Geelani said that unless the people’s aspirations are respected and addressed with sincerity, the negotiations or talks won’t prove of any avail.
In a statement issued here on Friday Geelani said that India can resolve Kashmir issue only by respecting people’s aspirations, however they instead of responding seriously & taking sincere steps are relying on their military might and strangulating the genuine voices.
Hurriyat (G) Chairman said that sincere measures are needed to resolve the Kashmir issue, and negotiations are the only option.
Commenting over human shield row and statement of Indian army chief Gen Bipin Rawat, wherein he has said that “individual officers are entitled to decide the tactic depending on circumstances” Geelani said that such statements are not expected from a commander of any disciplined force, however it illustrates their colonial mindset. It testifies our claim that they treat us as enemy nation and such justifying coercive and suppressive measures, said Geelani.
Human shield case testifies our claim but they are portraying the incident in a distorted manner as if situation were out of control, thus justifying the gruesome act of making a youth as human shield.
We have enough and sound evidence and proof that said youth was on way to his relatives and situation were quite peaceful. Geelani while blaming authorities for their deceit, said that they are following Goble’s dogma and relying on fabricated stories and baseless assertions.
Terming Gen Bipin Rawat’s statement as far from reality & his self-made analysis, Geelani said that Kashmir is a political issue and it does not befit a commander to discuss political issue and blamed Indian forces for inflicting miseries and carrying genocide in a well thought out plane.
It is ridiculous to blame peaceful civilians for prevailing situation in state, said he and added that baring a hundred or a few more youth have opted for armed resistance while as by and large all people in state are pursuing their struggle peacefully.
For past seven decades, we are pursuing our struggle against occupation in a peaceful manner, and in year 2016 lakhs of people took to streets however no positive respond was accorded to their aspirations, said Geelani and added that instead they were subjected to military might.
They have no logic to disprove our claim, said Geelani while referring to authorities in Delhi and said that instead they are resorting to military might against unarmed and innocent people.
They failed to crush our freedom sentiments and now feel desperate to defame and disgrace leadership and freedom movement, said Geelani. Commenting over the deceptive measures adopted by authorities, Syed Ali Geelani said that they are following their many folded policies and one hand utilizing the services of NIA and raiding residences of leadership and on the other harping the tune for negotiations.
They are not serious to resolve Kashmir issue and we won’t accept offer under the shadow of gun, said Geelani. It is just to cover up their wrongdoings and to mislead international community, he said.
Meanwhile, Syed Ali Geelani, THK general secretary Mohamad Ashraf Sehrai, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saif ullah, Raja Meraj u Din, Mohammad Ashraf Laya and Umar Adil Dar continue to be under house arrest and Syed Ali Geelani was barred from offering Friday prayers even in the month of Ramadhan.
Hurriyat Conference (G) condemned these arbitrary measures, saying that illogical and unjustified restrictions illustrate the state sponsored terrorism.
The process of this illegal house detention started in 2010 and is continuing in 2017 and authorities are silent as to how long will this extraordinary type of imprisonment continue. The spokesperson said, “the India want to kill Geelani without taking a blame. That is why the government hasn’t produced any written court order regarding to the house imprisonment of Syed Ali Geelani, since last 7 years.
Lashing at administration for their criminal silence, spokesman said that continuous detention is taking heavy toll of already deteriorating health of detained leader.
