Air India flight’s tyres burst while landing at Jammu Airport, passengers safe

Jammu/June,8: The passengers of Jammu bound Air India flight Friday had a close shave when the tyres of the plane burst while landing at Jammu Airport here.
“An Air India plane with around 134 passengers on board suffered a tyre burst while landing at Jammu Airport here this afternoon,” an official here said.
He said that all passengers are safe but the runway had suffered some damage.
“Flight number AI821 this afternoon at 1215 hours arrived here from New Delhi when two tyres of the plane burst while landing,” they said.
“The passengers were immediately evacuated”, said an official.
“All passengers boarded the flight are safe,” V K Gautam, Station Director, Jammu Airport here said.
Mr Gautam said that accident happened while the flight was landing on the runway.
“A team of experts are ascertaining the cause behind tyre busrt,” he added.
However, departure and arrival of rest of the flights have been suspended temporarily, an official added.
