Sajid Rasool

I am certain that you must have heard about pubg, a video game which has grabbed the lion’s share of wordly population especially the youth. It has annihilated both the physical as well as mental health of youth. A matter of fact is that it too escalates like a pandemic. Since in this period of lockdown people usually get bored and install this game for a purpose of keeping themselves occupied but how this worthless game becomes one’s addiction is worth to think about? It is now surprising that people of all ages fall prey to this feckless game. It has led people astray. A person initially plays to get pleasure from it. Later on this pleasure turns into a burden. It not only wastes time and energy but also has got crummy effects on health. A person usually gets so much engaged with it as he finds no time for himself to eat. This directly affects his physical health. He mostly chooses isolation due to which his socialization gets disturbed. He hardly gets associated with the people in his vicinity. In fact his social life gets disrupted. One of the major impact of this game is on the psychological domain of health. While playing for couple of hours a day person gets much stress and his mind gets exhausted. One of the alarming situation comes when the same routine gets repeated day by day, the person finally suffers from depression. His cognitive behaviour gets disrupted e.g. a person becomes short tempered. His learning process gets affected. That person is unable to focus for long on any particular object or topic, i.e, his span of attention gets decreased. He suffers from memory loss and diminution in thought process occurs. While playing this feckless game whole night, the sleep cycle of person gets disturbed resulting in decrease in metabolic rate.IQ of a person also gets decreased. In addition to these effects, it has got biological impact as well. As long as the time proceeds person gets more and more attached to the game. He becomes more serious about it and eventually his heart beat escalates which finally results in cardiac arrest as most commonly observed now a days. It happens when a person gets more tied to it. He perceives his avatar (in the game)as if he himself is in the match which triggers more and more adrenaline to run throughout his body(adrenaline rush) thus causing heart to beat at a faster rate and more chances of a person to go in a fatal situation.
Instead of wasting our time in playing such a futile game we should use this time in a positive way i.e. doing physical activity like exercise, playing outdoor games, performing yoga and doing meditation.
Moreover its addiction keeps person miles away from his books. In fact he becomes more ambiguous and insane. His mind gets fully tired because it starts making dopamine at a low level. Dopamine is responsible for increasing glucose level in the body either by increasing insulin resistance or decreasing insulin secretion. That is the reason a person feels tired every now and then and gets depressed. He even gets suicidal thoughts as well.
Actually the matter of concern is that the life of youth gets devastated for a worthless game. As youth are the priceless assets of our nation. As Almighty has lavish them with minds full of creativity, intellectuality and what not. If they get deviated from their path the nation will never show any progression in future. So let my offer you some of the suggestions which we should use in order to consume our time in a productive way to construct ourselves and our future. Instead of wasting our time in playing such a futile game we should use this time in a positive way i.e. doing physical activity like exercise, playing outdoor games, performing yoga and doing meditation. These activities will not only promote our physical and mental health but also keep us away from mental disorders especially depression.
