Srinagar/July, 16: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum(JKCSF) Ab Qayoom Wani  on Thursday stressed  for introspection to improve health facilities, judicious use of COVID-19 donations, and vigil over government functionaries  amid prevailing alarming pandemic crisis.

Expressing concern over the alarming situation of Corona crisis in Kashmir in particular and  Jammu and Kashmir  in general the civil society forum Chief Wani in a statement issued here on Thursday  voiced his  dissatisfaction over the management of the pandemic. Raising  questions over the plight  of the covid patients and their families who suffer for want of ventilators in hospitals to the social In differences, Wani said “now this is the fifth month of fight against  the pandemic in Jammu and Kashmir by not only Govt but both government and as well as  private stakeholders and welfare organizations are part of the preventive control measures carried out to control the virus spread. He, however, regretted that the pathetic condition of the covid victims, patients and their families  poses questions  that where  the progress of control measures is visible on ground  and where the money contributed by state employees, traders, volunteers, welfare organizations is being  spent and why there is so much scarcity of ventilators  and other medical equipments in hospitals  which could have been generated by evern raising local donations  during all these months.
Wani demanded constitution of an enquiry commission to investigate the utilization of the donations made by employees, traders and others to fight the COVID 19 in J&K.
Wani said JKCSF time and again demanded formation of an expert committee that would guide and monitor the critical and technical issues and will be assist the administration in these tough times but nobody listened to this significant suggestion.
JKCSF is urging the authorities to use the human resource in dealing with  the prevailing crisis by raising infrastructure whatsoever may be possible even now with the recommendations of the medical experts and the utilization of the money donated by the employees and the traders’ fraternity.
Wani took a dig on the stakeholders for issuing circulars and advisories on papers .
Wani said that JKCSF is vehemently making a point  that our frontline workers, doctors and paramedical staff be given  scientific protective gears but at the same time affected people need human attitude, proper hygienic atmosphere and guidance. JKCSF urges the administration to introduce a mechanism of introspection  to bring a perceptible change on ground . “The hospitals which have been declared dedicated  covid 19 health facilities  are under surveillance of JKCSF and we are properly monitoring mismanagement of funds and officers habitual of corrupt practices will be exposed”, Wani said .
An RTI has been also completed on this behalf.
Wani said administration must seal all cricket fields and JK Bank units where thousands of youth and people are gathering and  throw the guidelines and SOPs into dust bins. “This type of mismanagement will have disastrous consequences  in future .Tehsidars , BDOs and other local officers need to be in touch and localize the situation for their own people instead of becoming more loyal than the king”, said Wani.
Wani requested Doctors Association Kashmir(DAK)to guide the stakeholders govt as well as private to purchase and make available  the equipments and infrastructure like ventilators and other lifesaving equipment and provide a mechanism for investigation of the ambiguous deaths figured in the covid-list .Wani instructed JKCSF members to be ready for making donations to meet the growing crisis of the pandemic.
