Srinagar : Former President Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) and civil society leader Ab Qayoom Wani on Saturday said that raising voice for release of Kashmiri detainees to adress pain of their distressed families is “our” collective responsibility.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Wani voiced his serious concern over the delay in releasing kashmiri detainees in different jails in and outside state .
Stating that the families of Kashmiri detainees are in distress and mental trauma haunts them due to lack of contact and unawareness about the well being of their loved one’s after covid 19 lockdown, Wani
Wani said the detainees in and outside jails are under continuous fear of Covid -19 .
Claiming that large number of detainees are senior citizens with multiple ailments and are prone to covid-19, Wani said that safety and security of every citizen must be the priority of the government and it is high time for the govt to show respect the human rights by releasing the detainees on humanitarian grounds whether political or apolitical in nature.
Wani said that every person with human heart must feel the pain of the families of detainees and should raise their peaceful voice for their release from jails within and outside Jammu and Kashmir before Eid ul Fitur ,so that their families may get sigh of relief and they may not feel isolated at this difficult time .
Wani said “it’s our collective responsibility to raise voice for release and safety of Kashmiri prisoners and to show sympathy with their families at this difficult time” .
