Srinagar | Nov, 07: The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved a 5 per cent annual increment for eligible contractual employees under the National Health Mission (NHM) for the 2026-27 financial year, Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakina Itoo announced on Saturday.
Describing the move as a key step in recognizing the dedication of NHM workers, the Minister highlighted their ongoing role in strengthening healthcare delivery across the Union Territory, reports said.
“Our commitment to the welfare of healthcare workers remains steadfast. We will continue working towards a stronger, more responsive and inclusive healthcare system under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Jenab Omar Abdullah,” she wrote in a public statement. Officials noted that the increment will provide significant financial relief to contractual healthcare personnel across J&K.
