Drones, Joint Mock Drills Deployed to Prevent Infiltration

Srinagar | Nov, 02: Security forces have intensified vigil along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Diwali to counter potential infiltration attempts, officials said on Monday.
Reinforced grids and joint mock exercises have been initiated across vulnerable border points, particularly in Poonch, Rajouri, and Kathua districts. Anti-infiltration mechanisms in North Kashmir’s Gurez, Uri, Karnah, and Tangdhar sectors have also been placed on heightened alert.
Along the International Border, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have stepped up round-the-clock patrolling, utilizing electronic surveillance systems, drones, and night-vision equipment.
In Bandipora district, joint counter-terrorism drills were executed across multiple locations. The Bandipora Police, Army’s 13 Rashtriya Rifles, and CRPF conducted Cordon, Intervention, and Rescue (CIRS) exercises—including a simulated hostage rescue drill at PM High School, Gundgahagir, and anti-fidayeen mock operations at Aragam and the District Police Lines.
With Diwali falling on November 8, security agencies stated that high operational alertness will be maintained continuously across all vulnerable sectors to ensure peaceful celebrations.
