Baramulla | October 31: Police on Thursday seized two tippers and one JCB machine involved in the illegal extraction, digging, and transportation of minor minerals at Nowlari Pattan during a joint operation with the Department of Geology and Mining, Baramulla Circle.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Police said that Police Post Kongamdara intercepted tippers bearing registration numbers JK04H-3664 and JK04J-6924, driven by Saqlain Ali and Irfan Hussain, both R/O Sehpora Magam, along with a JCB machine bearing chassis number J081NB4, driven by Tawseef Ahmad, R/O Khore Sherabad. Officials from the Department of Geology and Mining seized all three vehicles under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957, and imposed a fine of ₹36,897, emphasizing that strict enforcement drives will continue against unlawful exploitation of natural resources.
