Srinagar | October, 31: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has initiated the budget formulation process for the fiscal year 2027-28, with detailed discussions on budget proposals scheduled to commence from November 16.
According to an official itinerary, budget discussions covering the Revised Estimates (RE) for 2026-27 and Budget Estimates (BE) for 2027-28 will run from November 16 through December 2. The Finance Department will hold extensive deliberations with 36 administrative departments as part of this annual exercise.
In official directions, administrative departments have been asked to furnish Action Taken Reports (ATRs) on prior budget announcements well before their scheduled discussion dates. Furthermore, officials said that departments must submit comprehensive details regarding establishment budgets and Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) requirements, along with PowerPoint presentations covering staff strength, revenue trends, major project liabilities, and key features of the proposed budget.
