Udhampur, Oct 21: At least ten people were injured after a bus skidded off the road and rolled down in the Latti-Basantgarh tehsil of Jammu’s Udhampur district on Wednesday, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the accident took place at Gulli Gala in the Pachound area along the Basantgarh-Ramnagar road.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said he had spoken to Udhampur Deputy Commissioner Ananth Dwivedi after receiving news of the accident.

In a post, Singh said all passengers were promptly evacuated with the timely intervention of local residents.

He added that the rescue team had reached the spot and that nine to ten injured passengers were being shifted to the Sub-District Hospital, Ramnagar. “No casualties have been reported so far,” Singh said, adding that all necessary assistance was being provided and his office was in constant touch with the administration.
