Poonch | October, 19: A laborer was killed on the spot and four others suffered injuries when a massive landslide struck a road construction site in the Sawajian area of Jammu’s Poonch district on Monday.
Officials said the mishap occurred at Agan Pathri village while workers were actively engaged on a road development project. The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Mohd Bashir, son of Ali Mohd, a resident of Danna Gagrian in Sawajian. Reports said a heavy falling stone struck the victim, causing fatal injuries instantly, while the injured co-workers were rushed to a local health facility for treatment. Authorities have taken official cognizance of the incident to ascertain site safety protocols.
