Exams Set To Begin As Confidential Material Reaches Police Stations
Srinagar | October, 16: Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) Friday said at least 2,70,000 students are all set to appear in upcoming board exams of 10th, 11th and 12th standard. Addressing a press conference, JKBOSE Chairman, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, said the examination of 10th class is commencing on Monday, followed by 12th standard from 21st October, and 11th standard from October-29.
“In total, we have 2,70,000 students enrolled for exams in all three classes. There are 10 districts of the Kashmir region, plus 6 districts of winter zone areas of Jammu division,” he said. He added that the Board has setup 2402 exam centres for all three classes and appointed the necessary staff including superintendents, deputy superintendents, and supervisors. Officials confirmed that confidential material has reached local police stations ahead of time.
“The students in 11th and 12th have already had experience. But the students who are coming in 10th exams, I would like to request them not to worry. This is a normal exam. There is no need to worry. The papers are also normal,” Sheikh said, adding that question papers conform to the National Education Policy 2020 benchmark.
“Safeguarding the integrity of the exam is a priority for us. For that, we have requested the district magistrates to impose the BNSS,” Sheikh said, noting that district SSPs were requested to ensure no outer interference occurs. He added that a grievance monitoring cell with landline numbers and email addresses has been established, alongside 40 mobile inspection teams.
“Our request to them will be that they behave politely with the children. If the children are a little upset, they will behave well with them, considering them as their own children,” Sheikh urged the examination staff regarding 10th-grade candidates.
