Says “2,000 Children To Join Bharat Darshan Tours”
Srinagar | October, 15: Jammu and Kashmir Police will organise 240 district-level sporting events this year, up from 144 last year, to engage youth and steer them away from drug abuse, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat said on Thursday.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of Jashn-e-Dal 2026 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Prabhat noted that channelising young energy into constructive activities is vital to tackling narco-terrorism. “Last year, we organised 144 sporting events with the support of the Government of India, while 240 events are being conducted this year at the district level,” he said.
Prabhat said sports teach individuals to face uncertainty, overcome fears, and push beyond physical limitations. He expressed confidence that sustained efforts under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan would safeguard youth while countering terror networks. Highlighting police outreach initiatives, Prabhat stated that 2,000 children are set for Bharat Darshan tours this year, up from 1,789 last year. Praising participants of Jashn-e-Dal 2026, he emphasized that water sports and policing share core values like discipline, courage, and teamwork under pressure.
