Jammu: NCORD Committee of the Government College for Women Parade on Monday encouraged the students to work for a Drug Free Society by organizing a Pledge taking ceremony and forming a Human chain to reaffirm their resolve.

The initiative witnessed enthusiastic and active participation of more than 150 students and members of NCORD Committee to mark the 6th anniversary of NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NBMA)

The programme was formally flagged by the Principal of the College Prof. Naveen Kumar Anand and member of the NCORD Committee Prof. Reena Bhagat.

They emphasized the critical role of the youth in Nation-building and tackling contemporary challenges.  “Events like these are not just Symbolic; they serve as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to innovate, lead with integrity and stand together for a greater cause,” they added.

Later, all participants took a solemn pledge and made a human chain to firmly promise to stay away from harmful substances and actively work towards creating a healthier and safer society.

The event was also attended by Prof. Archana Gupta, Convener NCORD Committee and Prof. Anju, Dr. Pervaiz Ahmed and Prof. Anoop Singh Chib.
