Ganderbal, Oct 12: Harshal Rajesh Mahajan (IPS) on Monday formally assumed charge as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal at the District Police Headquarters.

The ceremonial handing over of charge took place between outgoing SSP Sudhanshu Dhama (IPS) and the incoming SSP, marking a smooth transition of command.

Upon his arrival, Mahajan was accorded a warm welcome by senior officers of District Police Ganderbal and presented with a ceremonial Guard of Honour.

Soon after assuming charge, the new SSP emphasised the need for dedication, teamwork and a people-centric approach to address public grievances and ensure effective policing.

He also stressed the importance of transparency in the system, maintaining a corruption-free environment and adopting a targeted approach to eradicate the drug menace from society.

Mahajan called upon officers to work with zeal, dedication and commitment to strengthen public trust and improve police services.
