Srinagar | October, 10: Light rain lashed several parts of Kashmir on Saturday, while higher reaches, including Gulmarg, witnessed fresh, light snowfall. The Meteorological Centre has forecast generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir for most days over the coming week, though a brief spell of light rain occurred at scattered places.
According to the weather department, conditions are expected to remain generally dry on October 11 and 12. However, reports said that on October 13 and 14, the weather is likely to turn generally cloudy, bringing light rain and thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds to many areas, alongside light snowfall in higher reaches.
Dry weather is anticipated again on October 15 and 16, with only brief spells of light rain at a few spots. From October 17 to 22, conditions are predicted to stay generally dry across the region. Officials said that farmers have been advised to continue harvesting and ensure the safe storage of harvested apples and paddy. A warning was also issued regarding potential thunderstorms and gusty winds on October 10 and October 13-14.
