Ramban | October, 8: A man was killed and eight others injured after the Sumo vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in the Senabati area of Ukherhal in Ramban district on Thursday, officials said. Officials said that the accident took place in the Senabati area after the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.
The injured individuals were immediately shifted to nearby health facilities for treatment. Officials said two of the injured were referred to District Hospital Ramban, while six others were referred to Government Medical College Anantnag for further treatment.
The deceaseed was identified as Vijay Singh, son of Raj Singh, a resident of Chunthan, Senabathi. Officials said those shifted to District Hospital Ramban were identified as Soni Chand, who suffered a head injury, and Sunil Singh. Those referred to Government Medical College Anantnag were identified as Anand Singh, Anil Chand, Naresh Singh, Jatinder Singh, Ravinder Singh who was critically injured, and Ravit Singh. Officials said cognisance of the incident has been taken and the circumstances leading to the accident are being verified.
