Police Seize Narcotics, Pistol, Ammunition After Intercepting Suspects in Arnia Sector

Jammu | October, 6: Jammu and Kashmir Police have busted a suspected Pakistan-backed drone-dropping module in the Arnia sector and arrested four individuals following the recovery of narcotics, a pistol, and ammunition, officials said on Tuesday. The breakthrough came after police intercepted two men traveling on a motorcycle during a naka at Tamala Bridge in Arnia on October 3.
Authorities recovered a silver-coloured Beretta-type pistol, two magazines, and four live rounds from Rahul Kumar of Trewa, alongside 264 grams of a heroin-like substance and packing material. Another accused, Ajay Kumar alias Rabb of Talhar, Arnia, was found carrying 276 grams of a heroin-like substance with packing material. A case was registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and Arms Act at Police Station Arnia.
During sustained questioning, police arrested a third accused, Ajay Kumar alias Sam, recovering 464 grams of opium resin and 13.3 grams of heroin. Further investigation led to the arrest of Jaganpreet Randhawa alias Jaggi from Punjab, suspected to be a forward link in the network. Officials stated that the investigation revealed the suspects had received two consignments through drone drops and maintained contact with Pakistan-based handlers, while efforts continue to trace the complete nexus.
