National Seminar on Hindi, Indian Languages Held at RRI Srinagar

Srinagar : The Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM) in Srinagar hosted a national seminar titled “Hindi and Other Indian Languages: Status and Prospects” as part of the Rajbhasha Pakhwada celebrations.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Central Hindi Directorate and Bharatiya Bhasha Manch, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of AYUSH. The seminar was inaugurated by A. Vinod, with Harvinder Kaur serving as the chief guest and Anil Joshi as the guest of honour. Dr. Irfat Ara chaired the program, which included a welcome address by Dr. Anis Ahmad and proceedings conducted by Dr. Neelofar Hameed. The seminar recognized several scholars for their contributions to language studies, including Padma Shri Prof. Shafi Shauq and experts in various Indian languages. Technical sessions featured presentations from multiple scholars discussing the status, challenges, and future prospects of Indian languages. Additionally, literary presentations in Hindi, Kashmiri, Urdu, Dogri, and Punjabi enriched the event. The seminar concluded with the awarding of prizes and certificates to winners of various competitions held during Rajbhasha Pakhwada, including speech and Hindi typing contests.
