Srinagar | Oct, 01:A ten-day residential training program for Food Service Resource Persons (FSRP) under the National Entrepreneurship Campaign concluded in Srinagar Thursday .
The Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM), in collaboration with the Kudumbashree National Resource Organisation (NRO), heled the initiative for developing a specialized cadre to support food-based Self Help Group (SHG) enterprises throughout the Union Territory. This initiative involved training 50 Community Resource Persons for Enterprise Promotion (CRP-EPs) from various districts, who will be certified as Food Service Resource Persons (FSRPs) upon completion of the program. During the valedictory session, Dr. Shubhra Sharma, Mission Director of JKRLM, emphasized the significance of this initiative in establishing a robust support ecosystem for food-based enterprises under the National Entrepreneurship Campaign. She highlighted the role of FSRPs as essential intermediaries that will connect women-led enterprises with the necessary technical, managerial, and market support to foster sustainable growth. Dr. Sharma expressed confidence that the training would lead to enhanced quality and improved practices within these enterprises, ultimately contributing to the creation of viable livelihoods for rural women in Jammu & Kashmir. The Mission Director also stressed the importance of translating the knowledge gained during training into tangible improvements at the enterprise level. She noted that FSRPs would be instrumental in addressing various aspects of business development, including food safety, standardization, costing, packaging, branding, and market positioning. This focus on practical application aims to transition from mere capacity building to sustained support and growth for these enterprises. The closing ceremony was attended by several key officials from JKRLM and Kudumbashree NRO, marking a significant advancement in community-led food entrepreneurship in the region, particularly under the UT brand Umeed Ka Zaika, established through a prior Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations.
