Traffic Movement Restricted on Boulevard Road for Kashmir Marathon

Srinagar | September, 30: Traffic movement along the Boulevard Road stretch from Lalit Ghat to Habbak will remain restricted during morning hours on Thursday in view of the upcoming “Run for Unity” Kashmir Marathon-2026, traffic officials said.
The marathon route is designated from the Police Golf Course Lake View up to Duck Park and back, with several dignitaries and public participants expected to attend. Officials said traffic proceeding from R.M. Bagh toward Gupkar and Lalit will be diverted via Badyari Dalgate, while Gupkar Road will remain closed to general vehicular traffic until the conclusion of the event.
Commuters traveling toward Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan have been advised to route through Dalgate, Rainawari, Hazratbal, Zakoora, and Tailbal. Similarly, return traffic from eastern suburbs toward Lal Chowk will be diverted via the Burzahama-Hazratbal axis. Motorists traveling from Zakoora, Habbak, and adjoining localities toward the city center are advised to adopt the Dargah-Rainawari route instead of Foreshore Road.
Authorities instructed participants to park exclusively at designated facilities at Zabarwan Park and Botanical Garden, warning that unauthorized roadside parking will lead to towing action. Officials said emergency vehicles will be facilitated along the shortest available routes, while citizens requiring traffic assistance can contact the dedicated control room helpline.
