Kathua Admin charts action plan for Reform Utsav, Red Cross Week

Kathua, : Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma Wednesday  chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the   Reform Utsav and Red Cross Week in the district.

The meeting held detailed deliberations on the activity plan for three-month Reform Utsav campaign starting from Oct 2, 2026. The deliberations focused on highlighting departmental schemes and programmes through sustained outreach and awareness activities at the grassroots level.

The DC directed all departments to nominate Nodal Officers for the campaign and ensure effective dissemination of information about their schemes and programmes. He stressed the need for active participation of frontline workers to strengthen last-mile outreach and ensure that the benefits and information related to Government initiatives reach the intended beneficiaries.

It was decided that a comprehensive calendar of activities will be prepared and rolled out across the district, with Gram Sabhas to act as important platforms for awareness and dissemination of information about the Government schemes and programmes.

The meeting also reviewed preparations for observing Red Cross Week from October 4 to 10 in the district. The week-long observance will focus on educating the public about the humanitarian role and functioning of the Red Cross and motivating people to make voluntary and generous contributions towards its activities. A series of awareness programmes, outreach activities and donation drives would be organised during the week.

The DC also called for coordinated efforts to encourage greater public participation in the ongoing book donation drive being organised in the district as a special initiative under Seva Parv. He urged departments to actively motivate people to contribute books and support the initiative aimed at promoting reading and community participation.

ADC Mahima Madan, PO ICDS Mohammed Syed Khan, GM DIC Mushtaq Chaudhary, CPO Ranjeet Thakur, ACD Gulshan Kumar and other concerned officers were also present.

Department.
