Police on Tuesday arrested a drug peddler at Sopat Crossing in Devsar and recovered approximately 550 grams of Charas-like substance from his possession.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Police said a suspicious individual carrying a polythene bag attempted to flee upon spotting a police checkpoint but was swiftly apprehended. The accused was identified as Suhail Ahmad Hajam S/O Gh. Rasool Hajam R/O Nussu Badragund.
A case under FIR No. 71/2026 under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Devsar, and investigations are underway.
