New Delhi | September, 26: Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi to discuss critical security and developmental matters concerning Jammu & Kashmir.
A party spokesman said LoP Sharma briefed the Home Minister on the security situation, law and order, public concerns, and ongoing proceedings of the Legislative Assembly. During the meeting, Sharma raised the pending issue of enhancing salaries for Special Police Officers (SPOs) and requested that the process be expedited for early resolution. He highlighted key concerns of the local populace, stressing the need for continued coordination and intervention from the Union Government to accelerate development and strengthen security frameworks across the Union Territory.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah reiterated the Central Government’s steadfast commitment to ensuring peace, prosperity, and holistic development in Jammu & Kashmir. Assuring full support, Shah emphasized that public welfare and timely grievance resolution remain top priorities. This marked Sharma’s second meeting with the Home Minister in four days, following which he also met BJP President Nitin Nabin in the national capital, sources said.
