1. Statehood Resolution Sparks Assembly Uproar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah moved a resolution in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly seeking the immediate restoration of full statehood to the Union Territory. The move triggered strong protests from BJP legislators, resulting in heated exchanges and an uproar in the House before proceedings were abruptly adjourned.
2. Army Chief Reviews LoC Preparedness: Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth visited forward areas along the Line of Control in north and central Kashmir, including Kupwara and Budgam, to review the operational preparedness of troops.
