BJP’s Ashok Koul steps down as General Secretary Organisation

Kaul, one of the BJP’s longest-serving organisational faces in J&K, confirmed that he had relinquished the charge and would return to his parent organisation.
He cited age as one of the factors behind the decision.

” Yes, I have relinquished the office due to my age,” Kaul told UNI.
Kaul’s stepping also comes amid a wider reshuffle in the BJP’s organisational structure following the appointment of Nitin Nabin as party president. The BJP has recently brought in new organisational leadership in several states and union Territories

As part of the changes in J&K, BJP president Nitin Nabin has appointed Satish Poonia as the party’s new J&K Prabhari while Reena Kashyap has been named Seh-Prabhari.

A Kashmiri Pandit and a key BJP strategist in J&K, Kaul has spent years building the party’s organisational machinery across both regions, with particular focus on expanding its grassroots network in Kashmir.
BJP leaders credit him with strengthening the party’s cadre structure and extending its political footprint beyond its traditional areas of influence. The party over the last few years has made inroads in several areas, including those which were once the hotbed of separatism.
