Sopore | September, 24: A 20-year-old youth died while another was critically injured after two motorcycles collided near Fruit Mandi in Sopore on Wednesday, officials said.
Both riders sustained severe injuries and were initially taken to SDH Sopore before being referred to SKIMS Soura in Srinagar for specialized treatment. Officials confirmed that one of the injured, identified as Haziq Maqbool Mir (20) of Kensoo, Bandipora, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The second rider, identified as Aashiq Ahmad Mir (30) of Wagora, Baramulla, remains in critical condition and is undergoing treatment. Police have taken cognizance of the accident and initiated an investigation into the matter.
