Clear Skies Expected Across J&K Till September 27
Srinagar | September, 24: Peer Ki Gali in the Pir Panjal range received the season’s first snowfall on Thursday, while rainfall was reported from several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, bringing a welcome change in weather conditions following a largely dry spell. Reports said snowfall was recorded across the higher reaches along the Mughal Road.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast mainly dry weather across the Union Territory over the next two days, with no warnings issued for September 25 and 26. Thunderstorm, lightning, and squall activity are expected at isolated places on September 27 and 28, followed by clear conditions on September 29 and 30.
For Srinagar, weather officials have forecast clear skies through September 27, followed by partly cloudy conditions with a possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorms on September 28 and 29. Jammu city is expected to follow a similar pattern, with clear skies turning partly cloudy alongside potential rain towards the month’s end.
The prevailing weather conditions are expected to bring a further drop in temperatures across higher reaches, with snowfall likely to become more frequent as the winter season progresses.
