Karnah : Sharda Divas, the annual observance associated with the Sharda Peeth pilgrimage in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, was celebrated at the Sharda Temple near the Line of Control (LoC) in Teetwal, Karnah, on Saturday.
Hundreds of devotees and followers from different parts of the country participated in a symbolic yatra from the Sharda Temple to the Teetwal Crossing Bridge.
The programme began with a Homa at the temple premises, followed by a holy bath in the Kishenganga River and a Bhandara for the devotees.
The event was organised by the Dave Sharda Committee Kashmir and was spearheaded by its president, Ravinder Pandita.
Speaking on the occasion, Pandita called for the reopening of the Sharda Peeth pilgrimage route, saying devotees should be facilitated to visit the ancient Sharda Peeth temple.
The Sharda Temple at Teetwal, located near the LoC in Karnah, has emerged as a site for devotees observing religious and cultural traditions associated with Sharda Peeth.
