Srinagar, | Sept: 21: A delegation of esteemed Kashmiri doctors, including prominent figures such as Prof. (Dr.) Yousuf Kanjwal and Prof. (Dr.) Rafiq Sheikh on Monday visited Kashmir Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) in Srinagar.
During the visit an interactive session was held with key personnel from KMCH, including Managing Director Tausif Ahmad and other healthcare professionals. Ahmad emphasized the significance of the institution’s name, aiming to enhance Kashmir’s global identity in medical education and reduce the challenges faced by local students pursuing medical studies abroad. The establishment of KMCH is designed to provide quality healthcare at affordable rates, with a nominal OPD consultation fee of Rs 50, thereby making healthcare accessible to a broader population. The visiting doctors toured the hospital’s advanced facilities and praised its modern infrastructure, referring to KMCH as a “jewel.” They acknowledged the institution’s potential to significantly impact healthcare development in Kashmir and expressed optimism for its future contributions to medical education and patient care.
