Emphasising the importance of coordinated efforts, the DC called for active involvement of all stakeholders and stressed that inter-departmental coordination is essential for the successful implementation of the mission. He directed the concerned officers to ensure proper planning, execution and monitoring of plantation activities so that the intended targets of the initiative are achieved in the long run.

Earlier, Conservator of Forests, South Kashmir, briefed the chair on the proposed activities and implementation strategy under the mission. He informed that a plantation target of 20 hectares has been fixed for the current year, with plantation to include coniferous and fodder species.
