Srinagar | September, 21 : The Jammu and Kashmir Government informed the Legislative Assembly that 899 new posts have been created across various departments since October 16, 2024.
In response to a query by Handwara MLA Sajad Gani Lone, data revealed that the Health and Medical Education Department accounted for the maximum share with 485 new posts, followed by Housing and Urban Development with 266 posts and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs with 82 posts. The Jal Shakti Department created 43 posts, while DMRRR created 16 posts. Minimal additions were made across Cooperatives, Food Supplies, Transport, and ARI & Trainings departments.
Meanwhile, 7,580 recruitment selections were finalized by recruiting agencies during the same period, sources said. JKPSC finalized 1,768 selections while JKSSB completed 5,812 selections.
A total of 14,270 vacancies were referred to these bodies, including 1,852 posts to JKPSC and 12,418 posts to JKSSB under various categories including Open Merit, SC, ST, OBC, RBA, and EWS quotas, officials said.
